I saw Great Gatsby and I liked it. *cue Katy Perry music*… I was legitimately impressed and thought the literary motifs carried through beautifully while still being visually spectacular. Also Moulin Rouge and Great Gatsby share a lot…obviously. But the opening sequence, the innocent young man in the wild city, the ‘she doesn’t love you’…I really should have seen the similarities when I first saw MR. But I must say I enjoy both in their own right…and I thought Gatsby was indeed great.

So I go to fiesta…my first niosa, and end up at a free smashmouth concert in hemisfair park. Then Steve invites the (very small) crowd back to his hotel bar to party. And now we are here, in the bar, talking to smashmouth (well I’m not but I’m looking at them while I sit leisurely enjoying my beer). It’s cool. It’s san antonio.
*correction: I have now met the bassist and eric stole food from the guitarist. Mission accomplished.

I don’t think I agree with all of these…but today I’ve been getting really excited about traveling again. JUST. CAN’T. WAIT.

This reminds me of my dear old pup…except she would never have been wet or chasing a ball with such fervor. She was more of a Jane Austen, quiet-keeps-to-herself, kind of dog.

Two nights in a row I have had intense, anxious dreams where I am feistily arguing with some person or another and it ends with a huge emotional argument and people storming off. Last night I was fight/arguing with some random dude who was being mean to me on my birthday, and when I stormed off through a field I fell into an empty open grave (while holding either a large stuffed animal or balloons). And my reaction was an indignant “REALLY?!”. I woke up before figuring out a way to get out of the grave.

I feel like the symbolism of falling into an open empty grave on my birthday is too much for me to decipher right now.

But there must be some unresolved argument I need to be having with someone that I am not aware of.

Dreams are so strange. I hope for more peaceful ones in the future.

The rodeo is awesome. I want to be a cowboy (but not tie up or scare the cattle). Also there were little girls riding sheep like the cowboys ride bulls and it was completely fantastic and I wish I could have done that as a child.
